Mumbai, Jan 3: To the dismay of his party workers, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde may not be able to participate in the inaugural public rally to kick off the campaign for the forthcoming elections on January 6.
Prominent leaders of the Sena-BJP alliance, including Narendra Modi, Munde and Uddhav Thackeray were supposed to take part in this rally to be held at Ghatkopar.
But due to the recent surgery on his left arm, following a road accident, Munde may be missing from action.
Mumbai unit secretary of BJP, Atul Bhatkhalkar said, “I have spoken to the doctors at Bombay Hospital and they have assured me that his condition is stable. Although, he is expected to be fit in a week, his presence in the rally is dubious.”
In the meantime, the partyworkers are expectantly hoping for his early return to campaigning. “Although, we haven’t received any official notification, we are hoping that Munde is fit to return.”
