Paris, Jan 22 (IANS): French Ligue 1 football side Monaco have completed a permanent deal for Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva.
"Bernardo Silva is one of those talented young players on which AS Monaco wants to build its future," Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev told the club's official website Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
According to the principality club, the 20-year-old completed the move for a fee of 15.75 million euros on a contract to keep him at Stade Louis II until June 2019.
Silva, a member of the under-21 national team of Portugal, initially joined the principality club last August on a season-long loan from Portugal champions Benfica, and has been a regular under former Sporting Lisbon coach Leonardo Jardim.
"He has already demonstrated his potential to all our supporters this season and it was important for us to keep him," said Vasilyev. "We now wish that Bernardo continues to develop in the red and white jersey under our high quality staff."
