Mangalore, Jan 14 : The entire team of daijiworld.com takes this opportunity to convey our heartfelt gratitude to each and every reader, and everyone who has been responsible in helping us see this day and achieve such an exponential growth in the field of online media. Completing fourteen years, and stepping into the milestone year of 15 is not a small thing for us; we have faced the best and worst of times, but end of the day, we feel huge satisfaction in what we have achieved.
The 14th year was quite eventful as well as fruitful for us. We have now created a strong media group under 'Daijiworld' umbrella. Our print magazine Daijiworld Weekly completed five successful years and is making special impact as the only English weekly published from Karnataka. On June 16, 2014 we launched 'Daijiworld 24x7' news and entertainment TV channel which has already seen overwhelming response, much beyond our expectations. We are happy that our TV channel is becoming a household name in coastal Karnataka. On May 9, 2014 we moved into our own premises, the Daijiworld corporate office at Bondel, where all three media (dotcom, print, and TV) operate from.
But what has been most satisfying for all of us at daijiworld is not the quantity of achievement, but our efforts towards reaching out to the needy. Year 2014 generated approximately Rs 2 crore for the poor and needy, thanks to the large-hearted readers of daijiworld.com. For each deserving appeal we presented, the readers' response was extremely encouraging and overwhelming. As we step into 15th year, we have the satisfaction of reaching out to the needy by generating contributions to the tune of Rs 10 crore, all of which was transferred directly to the beneficiaries without any middlemen. Dear readers, what could give us more happiness than this? Without your trust and contribution we may not have seen this great day today. Once again, thank you to all.
Several of our reports have created impact, with government as well as private institutions responding very well to our investigative and exclusive reports. Our team is our driving force, and in the coming years, we will continue to highlight social issues and see that daijiworld.com has a solid impact on our society. After all, what is media if not a catalyst for change?
In the year ahead, we plan to bring you special events and programmes. Like you always do, please correct us when we go wrong, give suggestions and help us with your feedback, both positive and negative. We know that there is always scope for improvement, and our efforts have always been towards being the best we can. And it is you, dear readers, who support us and keep us going.
We are happy that during the year 2014, daijiworld.com saw a growth of 28% in the form of visitors with almost reaching 1.2 million page views per day. We are seeing growth in our readership as well as revenues.
We specially thank our advertisers, well-wishers, our entire team in Mangaluru offices as well as our teams, correspondents and contributors in Udupi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa and other parts of the world for supporting us all these years, and we expect similar support in the days to come.
Our readers are our strength - a big thank you to all.
We have a few pleasant surprises lined up in our milestone year. Please be with us, as always.
