Mumbai, Jan 10: The Lunch Box, starring Irfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been nominated this year for a BAFTA award in the foreign film category. Stephen Fry and Sam Claflin announced the names of the movies that were nominated at the headquarters of BAFTA, located in Piccadilly.
The director of the movie Ritesh Batra was very happy over the news and extended his love and congratulations to the whole team that worked on the movie. He also thanked them for their contribution to the success of the film in getting nominated for a BAFTA award.
He went on to say that he felt honoured that his work was given space on the same shelf as the many films that he has watched and liked this year. Some of the other movies that might walk home with a BAFTA are The theory of Everything, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Paddington, Gone Girl, Birdman and Boyhood among others.
The awards ceremony which is scheduled to place at London's Royal Opera House on the 8th of February will no doubt see many movie greats walk its red carpet.
