Smith equals Bradman, Kallis record

Sydney, Jan 7 (IANS): Australia captain Steven Smith scored his fourth century Wednesday in the ongoing Test series against India to match compatriot Donald Bradman and South African stalwart Jacques Kallis's record of four hundreds in a series.

Smith smashed 117 runs to help Australia post 572 for seven declared in their first innings. India were 71 for one at stumps on day two.

The 25-year-old, the stand-in captain for the home team after regular skipper Michael Clarke's unavailability due to a hamstring injury, has been in prime form in the four-match series against India.

He began the series in exemplary fashion, scoring unbeaten knocks of 162 and 52 in the first Test at Adelaide, followed it up with a superb 133 and 28 in Brisbane.

In the third Test at Melbourne, he hit 192 in the first innings to record his highest Test score.
