Margao, Dec 14: The Directorate of Art and Culture in association with West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur is holding the 4-day ‘Madgaon Utsav 2006’ in Margao, which will be inaugurated on Thursday evening by Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane.

West Zone Cultural Centre- Udaipur, have chosen Margao city for this event and will be held every year here. The event is being organized with a view to bringing all Madgaonkars together to foster unity, amity and harmony among all of them, said Art and culture minister Digamber Kamat while addressing press conference in collector building.

On Thursday evening at 7, Bollywood playback singer Sudesh Bhosle will perform on Costa ground. On Friday evening noted Goan singer Ulhas Buyao will perform with his group. On Saturday Bollywood artiste Varsha Usgaonkar will perform and on Sunday evening Vaishali Samant will rock Madgaonkars with her “Aika Daji ba’ song.

Besides this, several competitions have been organized. The event will conclude on December 17.
