Russian arrested in Goa with drugs worth Rs.23 lakh

Panaji, Dec 31 (IANS): A Russian national has been arrested here with party drugs worth Rs. 23.20 lakh, police said Wednesday.

Maxim Moiseev, 34, was arrested from the coastal village of Siolim, located 30 kms from Panaji, late Tuesday night, a police spokesperson said.

"We have seized LSD papers (blotted paper squares soaked in the drug) and Amphetamine from his person," the spokesperson said, adding that Moiseev had been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Goa, a state known for beach tourism, is also a destination for narco-tourism thanks to the easy availability of drugs.
