Berlin, Dec 23 (IANS): German football club Borussia Dortmund reinforced their squad with the signing of Red Bull Salzburg's Kevin Kampl.
The Slovenian international midfielder Monday inked a deal until June 2019 with Dortmund, who are currently struggling in the Bundesliga, reports Xinhua.
Both sides agreed to keep silent over further contract details.
"Kevin Kampl is a versatile attacking midfielder. His style of play fits perfectly into our requirement profile," Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc said.
During his two years at Salzburg, Kampl scored 29 goals in 105 appearances. Since 2012, the 24-year-old midfielder has been a part of Slovenia's national team where he has scored one goal in 14 appearances.
Dortmund completed the first half of the season in 17th place.
Juergen Klopp's men were unable to stop the downward spiral as they suffered 10 defeats from 17 games.
