Brisbane, Dec 14 (IANS): Left-hand batsman Shaun Marsh and New South Wales (NSW) pacer Mitchell Starc have been included in the Australian squad for the second cricket Test against India starting Wednesday.
Shaun Marsh is set to replace Aussie skipper Michael Clarke, who left the field midway through a dramatic final day's play in Adelaide Saturday, and scans revealed a tear in the right hamstring that had the captain considering his cricket future in the post-match conference.
Shaun, who has scored two centuries so far in the Sheffield Shield season, would be likely assume a middle-order role alongside brother Mitchell.
Starc and fellow NSW paceman Josh Hazlewood, who was 12th man in the first Test, are being considered as possible replacements for Victoria quick Peter Siddle for the second Test at the Gabba.
Australia lead the four-Test series 1-0 after Saturday’s thrilling 48-run win.
