Washington, Dec 10 (IANS): Real Madrid football legend Raul has been unveiled as a New York Cosmos player.
The 37-year-old Tuesday signed a multi-year contract with the Cosmos that now play in the second tier North American Soccer League, reports Xinhua.
He will also act as technical director for the club's youth academy.
"I believe in this club's vision and I'm excited to be a part of that," Raul said. "I have a contract for two years. I will try to play those two years, but it might be one, maybe two, maybe even three years."
During Raul's 16-year spell at Real, he won six Spanish La Liga titles, four Spanish Super Cups, and three European Champions League crowns.
The former Spain striker has scored 323 goals in 741 matches before moving to Schalke in 2010 and Doha club Al Saad two years later.
