The Hague, Dec 8 (IANS): FC Twente drew 2-2 against Vitesse in Arnhem to lose ground to the leaders of the Dutch football league.
Marko Vejinovic scored directly from a corner for Vitesse, Jesus Corona equalized, Jan-Arie van der Heijden put Vitesse in front again and Hakim Ziyech converted a penalty for the 2-2 on behalf of Twente Sunday night, reports Xinhua.
The penalty was given in the 50th minute after a foul by Vitesse midfielder Davy Propper on Twente striker Torgeir Borven.
League leaders PSV Eindhoven came from behind against bottom side FC Dordrecht to secure a 3-1 victory Saturday.
Also Saturday, Ajax crushed Willem II 5-0. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, Arkadiusz Milik (twice) and Joel Veltman scored in the first half and produced the final goal in the second half.
Striker Sigthorsson limped after his goal due to a foul by Ali Messaoud. He will probably be out for two to three weeks with an ankle injury and will miss next Wednesday's Champions League encounter against APOEL Nicosia in Amsterdam.
PSV maintained their lead at the top with 34 points from 14 matches, one ahead of Ajax (15-33). Feyenoord are third with 27 points from 14 matches, followed by AZ (15-27), PEC Zwolle (15-26) and FC Twente (15-25).
