Mumbai, Dec 3 (IANS): Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar fractured his leg after falling at his New Delhi residence ahead of his 75th birthday next week, a party official said here Wednesday.
Pawar met with the accident Tuesday night on the lawns of his residence and underwent medical tests that confirmed a leg fracture, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said.
Accompanied by his wife Pratibha and daughter Supriya Sule, Pawar was rushed to Mumbai by an air ambulance and admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital for further treatment.
It is not immediately clear whether Pawar, a Rajya Sabha member, will require surgery.
