Short film on eve-teasing goes viral online

New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS): "Ashamed", a short film about street harassment of women, has created so much buzz on the internet that it has got over 3,000,00 views. The makers are overwhelmed with the response.

The Khalil Herekar directorial, promoted by Pocket Films, opens with four men drinking on the roadside when they spot a woman passing by and start following and teasing her. But when the woman turns around, it shocks them...

Published on Nov 20, it has been viewed 326,701 times on YouTube.

"Ashamed" focuses on a man's approach to eve-teasing under different circumstances, said Saameer Mody, managing director of Pocket Films.

"The short film is a must watch as it will definitely make every man sit up and think about this evil issue still haunting our society," Mody said in a statement.

For Herekar, the movie "came from our heart".

"We made the film to show our anguish about the menace of eve-teasing, molestation, and rape. The public response to the film on the internet has been overwhelming.

"It has encouraged us to make more such impactful films that help bring a good change in the lives of people," he added.
