Photo feature: Magnificent Muscat captured through Kukkaje's lens

Pics: Dayanand Kukkaje

Muscat, Dec 1: Muscat is a beautiful city situated along the Gulf of Oman, close to the strategic Straits of Hormuz. It is the largest city in Oman and also its capital.

Daijiworld's star photographer Dayanand Kukkaje recently visited Muscat, and captured the breathtaking beauty of the city for our readers.

Muscat is dominated by a rocky landscape formed by the Western Al Hajar Mountains that give it a quaint old-world look, but along with preserving its rich cultural heritage, the city has gracefully embraced modernity in infrastructure and facilities.

The winding roads, sparkling blue water bodies, small shops, modern markets, skyscrapers and well-maintained and clean roads make Muscat an enchanting city.

Muscat has earned the distinction of being the cleanest Arab city. From mosques to museums, gardens to corniches and adventure activities, the city houses a number of tourist attractions.

If you have been to Muscat or are staying there, you are bound to recall and enjoy the magnificent scenes captured here. If you haven't been there yet, this may well make you draw up some travel plans!

Enjoy!

Great work. These pictures are the mirror reflection of Oman’s natural beauty. Very beautiful & true professional photography by Mr. Daya.
You have nearly missed a beautiful chance of witnessing the beauty of Muttrah Souk ( Market). It is an example of how the old market can be retained by giving it a new look instead of demolish it. I have seen this market since 1985 & witnessed the changes & developments.

Secondly, I suggest Mr. Daya to please visit Salalah which is the most beautiful place & best in whole Gulf region.

Beautiful photography. As they say, picture speaks a thousand words. Truly right after seeing these pictures captured by Mr.Kukkaje. Congratulations and great job.

These pictures are of Muscat area only, i.e. Barr Al Jissah /Shangrilla, Al Bustan, Qantab, Marina Al Bander, Muscat Palace area (Unfortunately the gorgeous MUSCAT PALACE picture is missing), Muscat Gate, Way to Navy base, Riyam Park, Corniche, Port Mina Al Qaboos, Riyam garden, Pot roundabout and Jibroo area.

Other places are also as scenic and beautiful as these places. Its a nature's bounty and is unique in all the gulf countries.

Because of Muscat's scenic beauty, its clean roads, kind hearted and always co-operative people, well laid out rules either traffic or civil, good administrative system in place, Muscat is attracting thousands of tourist from all over the world. Its worth visiting Muscat once, a peaceful & a beautiful country.

We are fortunate to live in this country under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. May God bless him with good health and a long life.

In all the places and states(countries) in Arabian/Persian Gulf, this is the only nation that gives a lot respect to Indians, followed by Dubai (within UAE) and Bahrain. After that we all know Indians are more treated like more or less like slaves, in the rest of the 6. Except for the dream of to make some money and get out as fast as you can, there is nothing else.
This is my own experience in those 6 countries.

Muscat is a beautiful country, especially salalah, but the Omani people are very good. It reminds me of 1996, I was with my late dad who was suffering from Alzheimer we were at Muscat International Airport for a stopover, they was somebody who was looking at me from a distance, that I was holding my dad’s hand, This gentleman came by took my hand bag and trolley, and bought us straight into the VIP room, he told me Sir, you can sit in this VIP lounge with your dad and even told the waitress to serve us whatever we want, after he left, I enquired with the waitress that who was that gentleman, she told me Sir, he in charge of the whole Airport and from the Royal Family, I will never forget that day, what respect he had shown us. God Bless U Sir, whereever you are. Even in our own country we will never get respect...

Very touching comment. I had been to the Sultanate of Oman several times beautiful country-friendly people and they are blessed with a great ruler.

Their religious tolerance and friendly way of life towards people of other religions is exemplary.

The pictures are great window to a country with miles and miles of natural beauty.
