Mumbai, Nov 29 (Mid-day) : Two Std VI students have been arrested for raping a five-year-old girl in Kandivli on Thursday. Police officials said the accused boys are neighbours, aged 12 and 14, and one of them had failed his class for two years. They added that both are “addicted” to pornography.
The young survivor, who lives with her parents in the same Kandivli neighbourhood as the boys, is out of danger. According to the police, around 6 pm on Thursday, when the parents of one of the accused boys had gone out to the market, the duo brought the child to one of their homes, telling her mother that they were taking her out to play.
But, they allegedly gang-raped her. Police said she had also been sodomised. After the crime, they dropped the girl to her house, and ran away. Back at home, the child was crying continuously, and her concerned mother discovered that she was bleeding from her private parts.
She immediately informed the Charkop police and registered a complaint. The police sent the child for a medical test, and the report confirmed that she had been gang-raped and sodomised. The cops then arrested the minors, who confessed to the crime, saying they had been attracted to the five-year-old for the past month.
A police source said, “Both the boys are addicted to pornographic videos.” DCP Balsingh Rajput of Zone XI said, “We arrested the two accused after the incident and sent them to the remand home. They are too young, and we are investigating where they learned such things.”
