Mangalore, Nov 10: Kedige India, a solo exhibition of paintings by Rajendra Kedige, a member of artist forum (R) in collaboration with Shatabdi Graphics Pvt Ltd, was inaugurated at Prasad Art Gallery, Ballalbagh here on Friday November 10. The exhibition will go on till Tuesday November 14.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Dakshina Kannada chapter of Kannada Sahitya Parishat who inaugurated the programme, spoke about the history of the art and literature and lamented that they were disappearing slowly, with the advent of modern technologies.
Mattar Ramesh Kini, chairman, Mattar Anand Kini and Sons, presiding over the function said that though he doesn’t know much about art he really enjoyed the paintings by Kedige. He also thanked Koti Prasad Alva for providing an art gallery to encourage budding artists.
K A Jayachandra Kajakar, president, Shubhodaya Education Trust, thanked Kedige for inviting him to the function and giving him a wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful paintings.
Kedige’s exhibition consisted of paintings which told a story. A painting of Shivaram Karanth, a revolutionary writer and a poet, had a flame touch in it that depicted his character.
