After receiving the award, Dr Jeanette Pinto said, "I am happy and privileged to receive the award. Any abuse on human life is an assault to the dignity of a person. We see violence everywhere, we have to create awareness and must stand up during the crisis. I could achieve many things only by the grace God. My motto is 'Choose life, cherish life and celebrate life’ ".
Gabriel Stany Veigas expressed himself with a message to the gathering and said, "To breath, we need Oxygen, only trees can give it. We are cutting the trees which keep us alive and we have polluted the environment. We used to drink the water of the streams but now people carry purified water, time may come where children may be asked to carry Oxygen cylinders with them to breathe. In the name of development, we have destroyed the nature. We have to save the nature for the future generation and all have to plant more trees".
Ligoury D’Mello, Oman said, "Parents are trying to increase their bank balance for the children and thus spoiling their habit for hard work. If we die after accumulating so much wealth and have done nothing for the society, then our life and death would become disgraceful. I just wanted to change the things, thinking if I don’t do who else will do. I thank all the people for helping me during various stages of my life”.
MLC Ivan D'Souza said, "I have read the bio-data of all the awardees. All definitely deserve to receive national awards. Most of the entrepreneurs have moved to abroad and only few are staying in the mother land. Rachana also has the motto of supporting and encouraging young entrepreneurs. Now there is a need for bringing all the Catholics Entrepreneurs under one umbrella”.
The jury was also felicitated with bouquet of flowers by MLC Ivan D'Souza.
Secretary Anil Lobo, Stany Alvares convener, joint secretary Raymond D’Cunha, treasurer Nelson Monteiro, Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and other governing body members, Louis J Pinto, Dr Errol Pinto, Brain Fernandes, Paul Moras, Dr Norman Mendonca and Juliet Mascarenhas and others were present during the programme.
