Mangalore, Nov 8: Karnataka's Additional Chief Secretary A K Agarwal, who is in the city to inquire into the communal violence that hit the district last month, said that a report will be submitted to the government in 10-15 days.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday November 7, he said that in his two day visit as many as 370 petitions of incidents of violence were received. He further informed that the time for issuing complaints has been extended till 5 pm on Monday November 13.
The areas which he visited were Ullal, Kutharpadavu, Kuthar, Kudroli, Bejai, Surinje, Arkula, Polali and some areas of Suratkal.
Regarding police violence during the riots, he said that many people who alleged police atrocities have filed complaints but there are some who have also praised the police.
The CoD enquiry regarding the two murder cases is still in progress, he said.
Deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao and Superintendent of Police B Dayananda were present.
