Puttur / Kadaba, Nov 8: These days, when honesty and intregrity are commodities in short supply, occasionally some instances come to light, giving an assurance that all is not over, not as yet.
Abdul Qader runs an omelette kiosk at Santekatte in Kadaba in this taluk. A few days earlier, as he was closing his stall late in the night, he spotted a wallet lying on the ground. It carried Rs 4,000 in cash and a few photograph. There was no clue about the owner, and nor any phone numbers either.
Qader passed the word around through adjacent shopkeepers and his regular clients about the purse. Ravi, employee of a local private firm, who had lost his wallet came to know about it and approached Qader and got his wallet back, everything intact. His gratitude came in the form of a cash reward for the omelette man, who also won wide appreciation from residents.
Incidentally, Abdul Qader had earlier once found a wallet containing Rs 5,000, traced the owner and returned it to him safely.
May his tribe increase, say the locals.
