Mangalore, Nov 7: The Society for Promotion of Indian classical Music and Culture Mangalore Chapter (SPICMACAY) will organize a two-day state convention in NIT-K, Suratkal on Nov 11 and 12. The event is expected to gather more than 150 delegates both students and staff from various chapters in Karnataka.
Prof Kiran Seth of IIT Delhi who is the founder member of the student movement will preside over the inaugural.
D Balakrishna son of the late veena player Doraiswamy Iyengar will present a veena recital which will be followed by Hindustani violin performance by N Rajam.
Several scholars will deliver talks including Prabhakar Joshi and Prof G N Bhat.
