Touched Vajpayee's feet, feel honoured: Goa CM

Panaji, Nov 11 (IANS): Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar's most cherished moment of his weekend visit to Delhi was meeting ailing former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and touching his feet.

Parsekar was in the national capital and met top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.

Speaking to reporters here Tuesday after taking charge, Parsekar said special arrangements were made so that he could meet the 89-year-old veteran party leader.

"No one is allowed to see him because of his illness. I told them I have been recently sworn in and, therefore, it is my wish to have his darshan (glimpse) and touch his feet. They allowed me to offer my respects and touch his feet. I feel honoured," Parsekar said.
