Shivamogga, Nov 8: The Bengaluru forensic lab report has confirmed that the handwriting found in the death note belonged to Nandita only, sources said.
Though the findings have been been reportedly handed over to Crime Investigation Department (CID), the contents of the death note have not entirely been made public yet.
However, CID IGP Pranav Mohanty said that the CID is yet to receive the report, and that there has been no confirmation about the handwriting. The Shivamogga police, on the contrary, are said to have claimed that the report has confirmed that the death note was indeed written by Nandita.
Also, Krishnamurthy, the father of deceased girl once again claimed that the handwriting in no way belonged to Nandita. Krishnamurthy has been very vocal about the death note from the day the police claimed that death note was found in Nandita’s school bag.
The CID had taken over the investigations from police department recently. The team led by IGP Pranav Mohanty and S P Rajappa had visited various places including the house of the deceased, her school and the hospitals she was admitted in.
Ever since Nandita breathed her last on October 31 in a Manipal hospital, the case has taken different twists in the form new developments and different theories. Though there were rumours that one person was arrested in connection with the case, no confirmation has come from authorities on the same.
The case has prompted various political outfits to stage protests throughout the state. It has also made politicians to engage in verbal attacks on one another which in no way has helped the investigations.
