Kundapur, Nov 7: "The Nanditha death case should be handed over to CBI instead of CID. Her family should be paid a compensation of Rs 25 lacs and Rs 10 lacs should be paid immediately," demanded Bykady Suprasad Shetty, district president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Bykady was speaking during a protest rally held by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajranga Dal taluk unit and All India Student Federation at Kundapur Shastri circle on November 7. The protest was held to condemn the alleged rape and murder of late Nanditha.
“We have lost faith in the state government with regard to the investigation. While the state government paid several lacs to the family of cow thief who died in police encounter, it did not even bother to send an official to the house of late Nanditha. It shows the irresponsibility of the government”, he said.
“Let the government give freedom to the police for investigation into the case, or else let it hand hand over the investigation to the CBI. If the government does not take suitable decision within a week, all the pro Hindu organizations in Udupi will be jointly holding 'Theerthahalli Chalo' programme and they will protest in front of the house of district in charge minister," he added.
