Kundapur, Nov 7: "The Nanditha death case should be handed over to CBI instead of CID. Her family should be paid a compensation of Rs 25 lacs and Rs 10 lacs should be paid immediately," demanded Bykady Suprasad Shetty, district president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Bykady was speaking during a protest rally held by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajranga Dal taluk unit and All India Student Federation at Kundapur Shastri circle on November 7. The protest was held to condemn the alleged rape and murder of late Nanditha.

“We have lost faith in the state government with regard to the investigation. While the state government paid several lacs to the family of cow thief who died in police encounter, it did not even bother to send an official to the house of late Nanditha. It shows the irresponsibility of the government”, he said.

“Let the government give freedom to the police for investigation into the case, or else let it hand hand over the investigation to the CBI. If the government does not take suitable decision within a week, all the pro Hindu organizations in Udupi will be jointly holding 'Theerthahalli Chalo' programme and they will protest in front of the house of district in charge minister," he added.

RSS zonal executive Subrahmanya Holla, Udupi district Bhajrang Dal co-convener Girish Kundapur, Sunil K R, Bhajrang Dal divisional convener Murali, All India Student Federation Taluk President Chetan Kumar, Kundapur center BJP president Rajesh Kaveri, Fishermen community state convener Kishore Kumar, Taluk Panchayat president Bhaskar Billava, member of town municipal council Mohandas Shenoy, Raghavendra, Satish Shetty, BJP executive women members were present.

Shankera Ankadakatte of Vishwa Hindu Parishat welcomed.

A massive rally by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhajrang Dal taluk unit and All India Student Federation was held in Kundapur town before the protests.

VHP, Bajrang Dal, Sri Ram Sene and even BJP are demanding CBI probe. While nobody opposes the attempts to get at the truth, Nandita's death should not become a political game.

Why did these Sangh Parivar outfits not accept the demand for CBI probe into the alleged suicide (?) of the then BJP MLA Raghupathy's wife or allow CBI probe into the rape allegations of rape complaints against the then minister Halappa? Were these victims not women?

Also, why the then BJP Government did not order a CBI probe into the series of Church attacks?
