Margao, Nov 4: Twelve dainty dames will catwalk on the Miss Goa 2006 ramp, to snatch the crown on Saturday evening on the lawns of Kenilworth Beach Resort and Spa, Utorda-goa.

This Beauty pageant was launched in 2004 by VJT entertainments. Last year Janice Sobti, a 18-year-old girl was crowned Miss Goa 2005. On Saturday evening, the third third Miss Goa will be chosen.

According to Joe Dias, managing director of VJT, the winner will be given a break in TV serials in Mumbai.

This year, applications from 121 aspirants were received, which were shortlisted to 12.

Poonam Borkar, Valerie Maria Rodrigues, Liane Texeira, Melissa Reena Alponso, Andrea Sheela Fernandes, Diana Marsh, Tabitha Fernandes, Manisha Vernekar, Sawiya Fernandes, Andrea Afonso, Karen Dias and Natasha Diniz will vie for the Miss Goa-2006 crown on November 4.

Bollywood fame personalities Suraj Thapper, Anokhi Shrivastava, lead actress of "Kahin to Hoga" in star plus serial, Reshmi Ghosh of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi'' and Jennifer Monserate, chairperson of North Goa Zilla Panchayat, will judge the show.

The winner of the Miss Goa 2006 beauty pageant will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and gold worth Rs 25,000 and the runners-up will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 and gold worth Rs 10,000. Besides, this there will be three prizes for Miss Catwalk, Miss Talent and Miss smile.

Adding entertainment to the gala, south Indian artiste Sangeeta and choreographer of the beauty pageant Romanch will perform on the show with other artistes from Mumbai.

Sab TV artiste Priya Arya will compere the event.
