The programme began with the lighting of lamp and homage to the portrait of Adiga by the guests on the dais.

P Jayarama Bhat, managing director of the Bank, gave a floral welcome to the guest and briefed about Adiga.

Addressing the gathering, A G Kodgi, former director of the Bank, said, “We cannot find an honest and hard working person like K S N Adiga today. I am so sure that not even a single person can have a single complaint about his work when he was the chairman of the bank. On the birth centenary of K S N Adiga, to have former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda is indeed a moment to be cherished.”

A documentary of Adiga’s rare photos was shown to the audience to celebrate the birth centenary.

As part of the celebration, the bank released a special postal cover and a special stamp on Adiga.

M S Ramanujan, chief postmaster general, Karnataka Circle, released the cover and stamp on the occasion.

H D Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister, the chief guest at the programme, in his address said, “We have gathered here to remember a great personality. K S N Adiga was a man of simplicity. I have a close bond with Karnataka Bank. I remember the old days when I used to take loan from the bank to do cultivation. I never stopped agriculture work even though I was a minister. Every week, I used find time and go home and do the cultivation by myself. The Bank has helped me a lot during tough times in life. I had to go back to Delhi and I postponed all other work as I wanted to stay and participate in the programme and convey my thankfulness to K S N Adiga.”

The bank released two books on the life of K S N Adiga and distributed free copies to the gathering.

D Surendra Kumar, former cirector of the Bank, Ananthakrishna, chairman of the bank, and other family members of KSN Adiga were present during the programme.
