Mangaluru, Nov 5: Officials from the department of food and civil supplies and the department of revenue raided a house and a shop at Haleangady and seized 55 quintals of rice meant for Anna Dasoha stored illegally.

The ambitious Anna Bhagya project of the state government has become a profitable business for traders. Locals from Haleangady had telephoned Bangalore’s food control room. When the officials raided the house after the complaint, they have found nearly 3 quintals of rice stored in small sacks and a person named Mayyaddi Indiranagar was arrested red handed.

When Mayyaddi was questioned, he said that more rice was stored at Badruddin store. A raid at the Badriya store belonging to Badruddin at Haleangady market enabled the officials to seize nearly 50 quintals of rice stored in sacks.

Badruddin said that the fair shop owners were directly selling the rice to him.

This is not new anyways.!! Anna Bhagya / Ration Shops stack rice and other essential commodities meant for poor people. This is surely done with good hands of few officials involved for sure. These officials might get their share of benefit from this. Later Traders trade it for a higher rate and make money & poor keep suffering.
Though this is tip of the ice burgh, how deep is it is best known the all people involved. Let us know through Daijie world as to what happens to this rice, what would Govt officials do to ensure it reaches right people?
Thank you Daijie for this news.!!

this is the real story of all those anna dasoha, xxx bhagya.. whether it's anna bhagya .. what ever. Ultimately it's the traders who enjoy to the core sharing with the management team. It's like... "thaanu nungu, ithararannu nungalu bidu". many such instances are there. only difference is this is found and escalated.. others are on going... never trust these projects like anna dasoha and all. these are all d for the benefits of the ministers and the connected traders.
