Mangaluru, Nov 5: A press meet was organized at the BJP district office condemning some of the recent incidents against Hindu outfits happening in Karnataka.
Addressing the press meet at the district BJP office Capt Ganesh Karnik, BJP MLC said " From the past one and a half years, the Congress has been targeting the activists of fringe Hindu groups and falsely booking them under Goonda act because of political rivalry which is highly condemnable."
"The police department is becoming a stooge in the hands of the state government. We strictly condemn the recent assault of the Police sub-inspector of Kavoor who assaulted Charan mercilessly. The law has to be equal for all the citizens of the state."
BJP also condemned the following recent incidents:
1)Kodikere resident Manoj being booked under Goonda Act
2)Kadri station police had arrested few people in connection to attempt to murder, when actually it was small fight.
3)Harish Kumar Shetty, a resident of Yedapadav threw cow dung on Suresh Bhat Bakrabail’s face and it has been considered as attempt to murder.
4)False allegations by corporator of Hosabetu ward Pratibha Kulai about being attacked and molested by a group of Hindu activists.
"The Hindu organizations are fighting against the social injustice. All the false booking cases by the police department need to be withdrawn. In case, the police department repeats the action in future, BJP will protest."
Speaking about Nandita's death case, Capt Ganesh Karnik said, " With no arrests made so far in the Nandita death case, police have not come to any logical conclusion in the mysterious death of high school girl Nandita. As Nandita's family are not happy with the CID probe, BJP demands that the case be handed over immediately to CBI and justice be given to the family."
District BJP secretary Kishore Rai, BJP leaders Monappa Bhandary, Pushpalatha U K and others were present on the occasion.
