BJP wants fresh polls in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS): The BJP has decided it will not form a government in Delhi and fresh polls should be held, party sources said Monday.

BJP sources said Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay met Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Monday morning.

Upadhyay, according to sources, conveyed BJP's point of view in the meeting.

The LG's office, however, refused to comment. Jung will Monday meet representatives from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress to decide on government formation. Though Upadhyay met the Lt governor in the morning, the BJP is also scheduled to meet Najeeb Jung in the evening.

BJP sources added they expect the election to be held by February next year.

The BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal combine has 29 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.

The alliance won 32 seats in the December elections, short of a majority. Since then, three BJP legislators were elected to the Lok Sabha in the general elections. AAP, the second largest party, has 28 legislators.

After a miserable performance and exhibition of immaturity and lack of knowledge to govern the AAP is now desperate for elections. The failure of the BJP to make a backdoor entry through defections from other parties is now wanting elections. It is for the people of Delhi to make a proper choice in choosing the right candidates from among political parties. It is important that candidates without criminal antecedents are chosen by the political parties. Empty rhetoric should not be recognized by the people. It should be a vote for experience, expertise and exemplary candidates. Lets not go by the repetition of the false promise on Radio/TV of getting the black money back into India. It is employment, social justice and speedy redressal of grievances by the Judiciary / utive / Parliament / State Governments that matters today. Political parties should ensure a corruption free India by being non corrupt in thought, word and deed.

AAP was given a good opportunity by people of Delhi, but now that trust has gone due to Kejriwala tying up with same corrupt Congress. We saw the AAP vote share drastically from 32% of Dec 2013 to 20% in May 2014

Whereas BJP which won all 7 seats in Delhi also increased vote share from 33% to 42% and led in 64 of the 70 Assembly seats. What do you have to say here?

Decisive Modi Govt., can not do a basic decision as primary as this for almost 6months is quite telling. They tried operation Kamala, through pulling AAP mla Binny, but was not able to further.

It could have been honourable for BJP to call for election along with Maha and Haryana. Since Amit Shah himself of the openion that Modi wave was diminishing prior to election, they did not dare to go.
Swatch bharat campaign, gave an imputus to BJP fortune in Maha, despite its betryal to sena. They needed victory in both states to command a majority in RS.

There is great to celebrate for BJP if it wins delhi, and even if it looses, there is nothing much to worry about. There is no alternative as well, as SC is after Modi govt., to take a decision. There is neither great courage or anxiety, as simple as that.
