Mangaluru, Nov 2: Amid increasing repeated sexual assaults over the minor school girls in educational institution, State government will be constituting Task Force Committee.
Addressing the press meet at Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday November 2 , chief minister Siddaramiah said " A task force committee will be formed within two days, which will hold meeting with parents and management. The priority of the committee will be in preventing sexual assaults of minors in school. The constituted committee members will be from police, educational, women and child welfare departments. This committee will make institutions to follow the guidelines issued by the government".
He also said "The sexual assault cases on minor girls took place at private institutions. Employees of these institution have committed this offence in their premises. Employees are appointed by management itself. It is difficult to stop these appointments by the government. Hence while appointing the employees, the management should check their past background"
Hitting out at opposition, chief minister said law and order in state haven't deteriorated as alleged and it is stable. He said that the government have not failed to uphold the law and order in state and strict action has already been taken against offenders who were involved.
Speaking on kidnap and sexual assault over high school girl at Thirthahalli, chief minister said " The investigation is going on. I am sure that truth will come out."
As answer for reporters questions on increasing crimes like murder, kidnap and moral policing in district, he said " During the BJP's tenure there were excessive moral policing incidents. BJP has no moral right to demand resignation of George. During their tenure, law and order was completely deteriorated." He added.
Chief minister speaking on invoking the Goonda Act against the sexual offenders said " Already amendment has been enacted, it will effectively be implemented. Goonda Act can be invoked directly on sexual offenders. Once if the case is registered under Goonda act, bail will not be granted. And one has too remain in prison for a year. Under the chairmanship of MC Nanaiah, expert committee has been constituted. Government will consider committee recommendation on preventing the sexual assault."
On appointing the Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner, CM said that "Government has not followed the law on implementing MCC commissioner and it will be done very soon.
