Belthangady, Nov 1: Police raided an illegal slaughter house that had been functioning at Nooji Kadirudyavara and detained one person .

According to sources, a person named Devassy was running the illegal slaughter house in his arecanut plantation near his residence besides the Nethravathi river. On obtaining a reliable tip off, Belthangady police raided the slaughter house, seized 15 kg of meat and two machetes.



Devassy fled from the spot and the police took Francis (32) alias Bijju into custody.
