Udupi: High school student dies after being kidnapped, rape suspected

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (RJP)

Udupi, Nov 1: A high school student from near Thirthahalli in Shimoga district, who was admitted into a hospital in Manipal breathed her last on Friday October 31. She has been identified as Nandita, a resident of Balebail near Thirthahalli.

Reportedly, Nandita was waiting to catch a bus to her school by the side of the road near her home on Wednesday October 29, when a car pulled up near her. When she heard someone calling out her name from inside the car, she went closer. It is said that she was forcibly pulled into the car by its unknown occupants and taken away.

Those who kidnapped the girl dropped her off about three km away at around noon the same day, it is said. The kidnappers sped away after dumping her by the roadside. Some people residing nearby spotted the girl and extended help to her. The girl, who seemed to be in shock and terrified, was in no position to relate to them the situation she was in. They then got the telephone number of her home from her identity card, and called her parents.

Her parents came to the spot and picked her. By evening however, the girl started vomitting uncontrollably. She was rushed to a hospital in Thirthahalli. After her blood pressure plummetted sharply, at the advice of the doctor, she was taken to Manipal hospital the next day.

The girl, who complained of acute stomach ache, was provided with medical care and treatment at Manipal Hospital, however, she failed to respond and breathed her last on Friday.

It is said that the girl confided in her mother about what she went through that day after being kidnapped. Postmortem report, which is expected to throw more light on the incident, is awaited. It is suspected that she was raped and that people known to the family might have been involved with the crime.

In a kingdom, when people face trouble, they look towards the King for help and justice. Like wise now people look up to CM. What people want is strong action from CM against such crimes. The decision to handover this case to CID is a welcome move by the CM, but he was caught on the wrong foot when he evaded questions from media and was complacent in dealing with rape cases.

Common fellow Indians, lets rename rape as "RAPURU" so that the world does not know what is happening in India. It is sad that we are ridiculed as "from a country famous for rape of innocent young girls". India is such a beautiful country with so many wonderful people of all religion living in harmony but a few from the society tarnish the image of our country and scare the citizens and tourists from visiting and enjoying the talent / colorful culture and various festivities / best cuisine / nature and the warmth India has to offer. My heart bleeds for these helpless girls and every morning I whisper special prayers for their safety.

Public should catch the culprits & punish them till death. This is the only way to control such crimes. Handing over culprits to police & courts is useless.

Whenever there is this kind of incident or similar to that, we end up with politics blaming each other parties responsible. For a common citizen it is the positive result, un biased and identification of real culprit and send him to harsh punishment.
I wish the criminals should be put under the bar without any bias, cast, religion and political influence. Hope the parents of the victim gets justice.

Unfortunately political parties are doing politics in everything.Pain and agony of victim and her family has no value at all.Parents are busy with their own work and children have free access to all the porn/filth around the world on their laptops/mobiles making their minds vulnerable.Moral values to be taught at home and not by govts. Govt can punish the culprits. preventing rapes is difficult , but no of incidents can be brought down with speedy justice system.

It looks like there is some idealogy/mafia behind all these crimes. These are not isolated incidents. Since almost 3years now, these kind of things happening again and again, despite stronger laws to punish.

By the way those claiming law and order breakdown, are like ostritch, as police and courts, enter into the picture only after a crime.

If a school teacher can get into this kind of crime on a 6yr old, one has to blame entire society.
Somewhere down the line pervert minds are getting encouraged, for sure.

It looks like there is a deep rooted conspiracy as this is happening all around India. It started in Delhi and spread all over India. It is getting more and more clear that there must be someone behind who must be providing either some kind of impulse or money.

The rapists are typically using high resonance victims, small girls, school students etc. The intention is to make a news of the crime. A school teacher getting into this kind of crime, implies by itself, he is not uneducated and lack knowledge of crime.

It is more than necessary to find out whether there is any idealogy? any political mileage? mafia? etc.
behind these acts. This is an emergency.
