Mangalore, Nov 1: Chief minister Siddaramaiah will attend the Sunni Students Federation silver jubilee celebrations on Sunday, November 2 at Nehru Maidan.
The Karnataka Yatre which started on October 25 in Gulbarga initiated and led by AP Abubaker Musliyar of Kanthapuram will reach Mangalore after covering 20 districts and covering 2100 kilometres in nine days on the same day.
The chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the 'Humanistic Conference' at Nehru Maidan to spread the message of humanity.
As per police estimates 25,000 SSF activists, members and supporters are expected to attend the conference.
The conference will also be graced by religious leaders of all faiths, including Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Karnataka Jamiyuthul Ulema president, Ibrahim Musliyar from Bekal, Milagres Church parish priest, Fr Valerian D'Souza, among others.
The traffic notification by the police commissioner has been issued. The details are as follows:
1. From Bajpe airport towards Kavoor, Bondel, Padavinangady, Mary hill, Circuit house junction, Kadri Kambla road, Jyoti junction, Hampankatta and Nehru Maidan, all vehicles coming from the opposite side and joining the mentioned road is prohibited. No unauthorised parking on the said road is allowed from 2.00 p m to till the CM’s departure on November 2.
2. No parking around circuit house allowed from 2.00 p m to till the CM’s departure.
3. On the highways also during the journey of the chief minister all movements of vehicular traffic is prohibited.
4. No parking is allowed within 500 meters of Nehru Maidan.
5. The vehicles coming from Udupi should park at St Aloysius College Loyola hall grounds after coming through Kottara, Ballalbagh, PVS and Navabharath circle.
6. The vehicles coming from Moodbidri should park at Milagres grounds after coming through Nantoor, St Agnes, SVS hospital, Collector gate, Shanthinilaya, Athena hospital, Avery junction and Milagres church where people should be dropped. While going back they should use Falnir, Kankanady and Pumpwell road.
7. The vehicles coming from Bantwal, Belthangady and Kasargod should park at Emmekere or near the road towards Mphasis after coming through Kankanady, Valencia, Mangaladevi and Pandeshwar to drop the people near Nehru Maidan. While going back they should use Jappinamogaru road to reach the Kerala highway.
8. Athena to Shanthinilaya all traffic closed during this time.
9. KSRTC buses coming to KSRTC from Pumpwell should use Nantoor, KPT, Kuntikana, Baliga stores road.
10. Only media vehicles, VIP vehicles and police vehicles are allowed to travel towards Nehru Maidan during the above mentioned time.
11. The same rules apply to all the vehicles during the visit of the chief minister.
