Mangalore, Oct 31: Lashing out at the Hindu nationalist outfit, Sangha Parivar, the district in charge minister B Ramanath Rai claimed that the write-up published in RSS mouth piece of Kerala 'Kesari' on Neharu was a similar stunt of the organization to spread canard about Nehru in a bid to demean legacy of first Prime Minister.
The minister went on to the extent of calling the Sangh Parivar as 'anti-national' saying that 'the rumour mongers are national enemies.'
When asked about Nehru sidelining Mahatma Gandhi as per the article in 'Kesari', he expressed Congress party should not bother on such demeaning articles published by RSS men.
Rai made these statements to daijiworld on the sidelines of commemoration of death anniversary of erstwhile Prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi on Friday, October 31 at District Congress Office in Mangalore. Taking a tactful gibe at the BJP and the RSS, he advised that an internal purification was necessary before launching Swach Bharath campaign in India.
"We have seen enough of RSS tactics to demean Gandhi and Nehru in the past. The Sangh Parivar has forgotten the legacy and the contribution of both legends rendered to the nation. Those who are spreading canards, at present behave as they do not know, who was behind the brutal killing of Mahatma." he added.
After paying tribute to the former Prime Minister Indira, Rai lauded her efforts in bringing social and economic independence to the people of the country.
"Indira Gandhi went against capitalists and landlords in a bid to realize economic equality in India. But the opposition parties are playing dirty games of politics to degrade the works of Indira and thus the Gandhi family." he added.
"We should not listen or read what the RSS says or publishes as the organization has an infamous trait of manipulating the history. Rumour mongers are national enemies. We are all aware about the remarkable works of Ganndhi and Nehru." He concluded.
The District Congress workers observed the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi and paid respect to the former prime minister.
