Mangalore: Ijas (28) murder at Kannur – two taken into custody

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Nov 1: In relation to the ghastly murder of Ijaz alias Ijja (28) from Kannur Ganadabettu near Adyar here on Friday October 31, policemen reportedly have taken two into custody for questioning. Ijaz, who had visited a salon at Kannur at around 11 am on Friday was slain by a gang wielding lethal weapons, before fleeing in a car.

Ijaz had 32 wound marks on his body and pieces of his body parts got severed due to the intensity of the attack. It is said that Ijaz, who was unmarried, was involved with ganja trafficking, and an environment of intense animosity had been created between two gangs engaged in the same business of late. The opposite gang, which was waiting for an opportune time, killed their enemy on Friday, as per one theory.

The gang members seemed to know that Ijaz visited this salon every Friday morning before attending prayers at the local mosque in the afternoon. It is said that the gang which had planned to eliminate Ijaz had deputed a person in advance to check whether their target was inside the salon or not. As soon as they got green signal, the gang rushed to the spot and hacked Ijaz to death, it is said.

Ijaz was named in the murder of Sannaputta alias Puttu Monu at Kannur in March 2012, hearing relating to which is in progress in the third JMFC court here. The brother of Ijaz reportedly had attacked Puttu Monu, after which Monu underwent prolonged treatment in a hospital. Last year, the Puttu Monu gang attacked Ijaz, sometime after which a gang led by Ijaz's brother reportedly eliminated Puttu Monu. There is speculation that the murder of Ijaz would have been an act of revenge relating to Puttu Monu's killing.

Mangalore, Oct 31: A person named Ijja alias Ijaz (28), son of Ismail from Kannur near Adyar  was hacked to death by a gang of six who indiscriminately attacked him with machetes. The killers fled from the scene in a car before the people in the area recovered from the shock.

Ijaz had visited Modelling Hair Dressers in Kannur for shaving. The gang which came on the scene all of a sudden rushed into the salon and started attacking Ijaz. The people on the spot, who were overtaken by surprise and shock at this barbarous development, ran helter-skelter. Ijaz bled profusely and lost his life instantly in this gruesome act.

A little time after the incident, people started gathering at the spot.

It is gathered that Ijaz's name was linked to the murder of a person about a year back. It is said that this murder was executed as a revenge for that killing.

City rural police rushed to the spot and arranged for shifting the body of the deceased to Wenlock Hospital. A case stands registered relating to the incident, and investigation has been taken up. Efforts are on to identify the killers.

City police commissioner, R Hitendra, visited the spot in the company of other police officers and guided investigations.

Who said religion alone is responsible to divide and destroy people. It is the senseless, selfish, monstrous, horrifying temperament prevailing deep within each person that brings disaster. If religion does not bring about a change in such attitude prevailing within us, it remains only a ritual.

To all those who indulge in violence. Fear the life after death. Almighty God says in Quran " And We Ordained..if anyone kills a person... it is as if he killed the whole mankind.. and if any one saves a life then it is as if he saved the whole of mankind.. Holy Quran Chapter 5 verse 32." just imagine the punishment for the killer. Here the one who was killed also falls in this category

Beary sir.. one genuine question.. if we beleive "there is some punishment after death" etc.. then why Sharia gives very harsh punishment for crime done? anyways, the accused has to go through his court and judgement day.. why hang him and send there... asking for my knowledge.. :)

    Dear brother Vellano1.
For such crimes - the Almighty said there is a punishment in this world and also he will punish hereafter.
That quote doesn't mean that there is punishment only in hereafter. but they will be punished by Almighty in this world and hereafter... hope this clears your doubt . thank you...

We Indians who are used to rape of babies/minors by perverts, massacre of innocent in the name of religion shouldn't be surprised by a case like this. If the last part of this news is true, ie, if the victim was involved in some other murder, there's a reason at least, unjustified though.

I fail to understand you people blaming Government\Home Minister all and sundry for each and every crime committed in the State.
These crimes happen who ever is governing\whoever is HM\whoever is Police chief.
We can only blame all the above authorities, if action is not taken to apprehend the culprits and punish them as per law.
Can the PM\CM\HM\Chief of Police be there at the spot if someone suddenly comes and whacks you\thrashes you ...?
Talk sense guys. You can blame the authorities if they fail to look into the matter immediately and take action to stop such criminal activity.
One should blame the useless law where these arrested criminals are freed by politicians using their clout\threats on the Police and get their henchmen released without a case. Can you find a HM who will defy these politicians\business magnates and even Police chiefs?
When Police are under influence from all and sundry how they can function well?
If some one can do away all these anomalies, then there may be a chance for the Law and order to function well.
Courts finds between themselves a person guilty and then not guilty!!!. How can it be possible unless some influence is used in the cases.
    Very weak laws.

You are obviously overlooking one simple fact!! why "law and order fails repeatedly"?? Why there is no fear of law amongst the people?... I agree its not PM, CM, HMs work.. but its their work to get the thinggs done via police..? where does the buck stops then..?

this govt has been very lenient with criminals, be it right wing moral brigades, or cow thieves, or rapists, or murderers...!! its not one or two incidences.. its a series of incdiences... and it is through out the states!!

even neighboring state Goa has guts to ban sriram sena or muthalik... why HM of karnataka lacks?

and haven't you gone on and on about godhra and Modi's failure? when it was just one riot... and he oversaw nothing of that sorts happens again.. remember same Gujarat used to burn on small incidencs... from Pakistan victory in cricket to, diwali/eid/moharam/ram navami or any other festival time!!

Dear BJP commentators in this forum, please note that Karnataka Home minister cannot go behind or cannot provide bodyguard to 6 crore people of the state. First try to stop the lawyers who is fighting to defend the criminals. Police arresting the criminals with great difficulties, but our courts releasing them by granting the bail. Crimes are increasing is India because of weak law and constitution. Please advise your 56" Feku to change the constitution instead of doing unwanted things around. Stop the bail system.

As per you what is the job of Home Minister? Please specify... Let me apply the same practice in BJP ruled state and to the whole country.

Police should file a storng case & get evidence to ensure lawyers do not win the cases. But KJ George is filing FIR on his own staff Naveen Naik (of ANF). How come police force can work freely?

You say, Police arresting the criminals with great difficulties, but it is not our court, but government releases criminal because he is MINORITY and book the case against Police.

In constitution it is not mentioned to save criminal just beause he is MINORITY. But Sidhdhu government is following it. If centre applies article 356, you PSEUDOS again cry foul....

byt he way, happy that you have agreed 60 years congress rule failed to improve constitution and now you are begging for it....

Time and again , it is evident that the Law and Order situation in Karnataka and especially in DK region has gone to dogs. The CM and the HM are in deep sleep no action at all. Even the District in charge minister also is of no use for the citizen's safety. One is not sure of returning home safely. Home minister was choosen based on vote bank calculation than his ability and experience. His son is directly interfering in the Police department's functioning and the CM is a mute observer or slips into sleep. The callous attitude of the duo towards the assault and violence on ladies and school children is on the rampant. Nidderamayya is proving himself as a costly liability for the congress party. People are fed up and already disillusioned by his misrule. The only congress govt in the south also may be lost next time...
