6-year-old sexually assaulted in another Bangalore school

Bangalore, Oct 31 (DHNS): In the fifth such incident reported from City schools since July, a six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted twice allegedly by a teacher at The Indiranagar Cambridge School.

The police arrested Jaishankar, 38, a Hindi teacher, on Thursday night on the charge of sexually abusing the Class I student after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the Jeevan Bima Nagar police.

Jaishankar is said to have abused the girl twice on October 28 and 29. The victim was subjected to medical examination at Bowring Hospital on Thursday and the medical report is awaited, police said.

Jaishankar has been booked under IPC Section 376 (rape) and provisions of the POCSO Act-2012. “We received a complaint of rape by the victim’s mother, a house keeping staff in a private firm and registered a case,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar said.

The victim, upon returning home at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, complained of severe pain in her genitals. Her mother grew suspicious and took her to a gynaecologist.

The doctor told the mother that the girl was sexually abused. However, the doctor refused to give a report of sexual abuse, said the police.

The mother discussed the matter with her colleagues on Thursday and one of her colleagues tried calling the Child Helpline number, but the number was not functional.

The mother and her friend then took the girl to C V Raman Nagar hospital. The doctors there told her that there were no specialists there to conduct a medical examination.

With the help of an NGO, she contacted the Child Welfare Committee and was directed to lodge a complaint with the Jeevan Bima Nagar police immediately.

Subsequently, the girl was taken to the school for identifying the suspect. The girl identified Jaishankar and told the police that he took her inside the bathroom twice and abused her.

There are strong evidences against Jaishankar and he is being interrogated, the police said.

The school management had failed to comply with some safety guidelines issued by the Police Commissioner.

In September, the police had booked the school for non-compliance. There was only one CCTV camera installed at the school. It is said that Jaishankar’s daughter is also a student of the same school. Many parents thronged the police station after learning about the incident.

The mushrooming of private schools with no checks suggests a deeper malady. The first is how are these schools allowed to function .Most parents are cheated into believing that schools will educate their children for a bright future.. Just find out what kind of Teachers are employed and their take home salary.SCHOOLS ARE BECOMING A COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE AND CHILDREN COMMODITIES.Parents need to be more and more vigilant for the sake of their children.Talk to your child ,be a friend and enquire if anything is troubling them.Safety of our children should always be our first priority.

KARNATAKA GOVT HAS TO ORDER ALL SCHOOLS TO IMPLEMENT STRICT SECURITY GUIDELINE TO ALL SCHOOLS IN KARNTAKA. PRIVATE SCHOOL SHOULD NOT JUST CONCENTRATE IN MAKING MONEY, BUT ALSO TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS TO PUT NECESSARY SECURITY CONTROL TO PREVENT SUCH INCIDENT IN FUTURE.

Madam, This man is married and his daughter is studying in the same school, so your statement saying less no of Female population is not valid. It is just that This man is a pervert and is worse then a HOG to sexually abuse the girl of his daughter's age. The main problem is not having a tough law,

@ Kusuma, there are some doctors who determine the fetus sex by ultrasound and this lead forceful abortion of many girl children. Hence the female and male sex ratio is such. This happens because of money minded doctors who have less practice.

Repeat of such crimes only shows that government is not consider such acts seriously. Looks they just protect the school as it will belong to some VIP. Not an outsider - It should be mandatory for all staff of the school to pass psychiatry test for employment.

The main cause of sexual assault is decreasing female population in India. Female chldren are destroyed as a result less girls in society so many men are frustsrated with sex and they assualt.I feel strong measures are needed to prevent female feticide in India. May god punish these criminals who assualt inoocent girls in society

it's expected and what else can be expected in such a system. We just find debates, press conferences and some statements by government officials during such incidents. That's it. No strict punishments, immediate executions of the culprits... nothing. the whole subject dies of after few days and media turns in to other flash news. So, these culprits will be continuing their inhuman acts day by day, week by week, month by month, child by child... whom to blame. system, school, individuals, parents... actually according to me it's purely personal basis and school names should not be highlighted. it's individuals who goes for these inhuman acts and taken them in to custody and punish to the extreme. that's it. What stops police, government... if you take severe actions in few instances... all these will stop. now no punishments and these animal natured inhumans will continue these acts...
