BANGALORE, Oct 29: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, whose teenaged son Nikhil has landed in a controversy over a brawl in a local hotel, on Sunday said he suspected a hidden hand behind the incident with an attempt to 'finish my political future'.
"Out of personal animosity and to finish my political future, there is a hidden hand behind the incident", Kumaraswamy said at a function here.
He said his son, who had dinner and was asleep at home, was taken out forcibly by some before the incident was reported to have occurred at the Empire Hotel.
"There is a hidden behind this to embarass me and my government", Kumaraswamy said, adding sarcastically "I am thankful to those who have helped me in trying to reform him".
Nikhil has lodged a complaint with police alleging he was beaten up by the staff of the hotel after an altercation over their refusal to serve him food in the early hours of October 26.
The hotel has also lodged a complaint, alleging three unidentified persons came there and ransacked it.
Speaking to reporters, Karnataka DGP B S Sial said those who had complained had not mentioned the names of the persons involved, except saying they were "unidentified persons".
