Bangalore, Oct 29: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Dr G Parameshwara, who completed four years in office on Tuesday, said that a new, spacious and well-equipped Congress Bhavan will be constructed behind the present party office on Queens Road at a cost of Rs 10 crore to Rs 12 crore.
The foundation stone laying programme for the proposed building project, which was scheduled on Tuesday, has been postponed on account of death of former KPCC president and minister V S Koujalagi.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi has congratulated Dr Parameshwara for successful completion of four year in office.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and several Ministers in the State government have also congratulated the KPCC Chief.
Siddaramaiah and Dr Parameshwara called upon the party workers to work hard to bring the party to power in the next elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and gram panchayats.
Dr Parameshwara, who assumed office as the KPCC president on October 29, 2010, has successfully brought the party to the power in the 2013 elections to the State Legislative Assembly.
To mark the occasion of the completion of four years in office by Dr Parameshwara, the KPCC office was illuminated.
The KPCC chief said heads and members to 82 government-owned corporations, boards would be appointed for 20 month period each to enable others to get opportunity in the next term.
