Mangalore : Kadri police detain five for moral policing at Nantoor

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (MD)

Mangalore, Oct 28: Five persons reportedly belonging to a pro-Hindu outift in the city were detained by Kadri police for allegedly attacking a youth for being in the company of a girl from another community.

The youth, identified as Zabeullah, was attacked by the group at Nantoor on Monday, October 27 evening.

Zabeullah who owns a shop in City Centre mall was reportedly seen with a 20-year-old girl from a different community. The five accused objected to Zabeullah being in the company of the girl and allegedly started attacking him.

Kadri police quickly arrived at the spot and took the five men into custody.

It is learnt that the girl is from Madikeri while the youth is a resident of Katipalla.

The arrested persons have been identified as Praveen (26), Arun (24), Rakshith (21), Deepak (26), Prasad (21) and Yuvraj (23). They will be produced in court soon.

The advocates of such sharia law seem to be more aggrieved by moral policing even though such sharia law itself supports moral policing. what if the girls community and boys community was vice versa in this case would the comment be the same from the enlightened commentrators.

I have a question, does anyone know the answer?. How do the activits know that girl and boy belong to different community? There were so many incidents like these so i fail to understand how do they identify the religion of boy and girl standing together?

    Vijay,
Where did I say that moral policing is good? Read my comments properly and try to understand.
Question was (as per your comment) BD activists are uneducated and jobless. Doctors, Engineers et.al. are not in that team. Could be true.
I just pointed out that it doesn't matter whether one is a doctor or engineer or has highly skilled job, brainwash can take you to do bad things, worse than moral policing
    hope you understand

The problem here is other community girl but how these moral police could identify the religion of the partners in question? May be they were tipped of by some informers. My contention is whether these guys would have tolerated such incident if both the partners were belonging to same community?
Moral police could have acted in a better way by bring such incidents to the attention of Authorities to take appropriate action against those who exploit girls by luring them. Next time the boy may go to Madikeri to avoid all such nuisance or he would have someone from his own community.

Those arrested were for attacking the boy but they did not attempt to outrage the modesty of the girl. May be its better for Kadri police to create a special easily accessible outpost at any convenient place so that the Moral "Police" can report to them any situation that may seem to be fishy.
There seems to be a serious shortage of police personnel for Mangalore, with overloaded functions like traffic accidents, robberies, unnatural deaths etc., and it may be useful if a citizens voluntary monitoring force is created / established to help the police force.

Mangalooru has a glorious history of peaceful co-existence among all people - and its good name certainly needs to be protected.

Moral policing should be stopped at once. who has given them the right. if they really want to help the parents let them contact the parents and let them know about these matters. this not helping parents this is goondagiri. Why rules only for girls whether the hindu boys are perfect? no work no responsibility, evening go and drink go home late night is this right. if you all want improve the society first correct yourself.
Because the law and order is not there these things are repeating. and their names and photos are not published. they are jobless and useless people good for nothing.
