New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS): The BJP Monday said no call has been taken on the chief ministerial candidate in Maharashtra, where the party is all set to form the government.
"We have not decided the chief ministerial candidate yet," a party leader said on condition of anonymity.
He refused to confirm whether union Minister for Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was out of the race for the top post.
"Nothing has been decided yet," he said.
He further said the Bharatiya Janata Party was not pursuing any talks with the Shiv Sena, its erstwhile ally, on government formation in Maharashtra.
"There are neither official nor backdoor talks going on with the Shiv Sena," he said.
BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and J.P. Nadda would visit Maharashtra Tuesday for a meeting with state party leaders.
"Everything from forming of the next government to deciding the chief ministerial candidate will be on the table," he added.
