Mangalore, Oct 27: Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy writer Mohammed Baddur's 'Talesingara', Beary music audio cd was released here on Sunday October 26, at St Aloysius College Auditorium, Mangalore.
Minister for forests, ecology and environment, B Ramanath Rai released the 'Talesingara' cd.
Addressing the gathering Rai said, "Beary Academy is organising quality programmes. Even Government officials are talking about your programmes. With various kind of programmes the academy is trying to adjust themselves among the society. This is the promising growth."
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president Mohammed Haneef presided over the programme. Mangalore North MLA B A Mohideen Bawa was the chief guest. Drama artiste Vijay Kumar Kodialbail briefed about the audio cd.
Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee vice-president Haji Ibrahim Kodijal distributed prizes to the students.
Corporator Latif Kanduka, academy members Ayisha Perla, Yusuf Wakhtar and
T A Aliabba Jokatte were present.
Mohammed Baddur, Mohammed Iqbal Katipalla, Ashraf Appolo, Suhail Baddur and music directer Vijay were felicitated.
Academy registrar Umarabba welcomed the guests. Abdul Hameed Golthamajalu compered the ceremony. Abdul Hameed Padubidri proposed the vote of thanks.
Speaking to daijiworld, writer Mohammed Baddur said that the album 'Talesingara' depicts the lifestyle of Dakshina Kannada Beary and their culutre.
"In the album, two songs talk about the rich culture of Dakshina Kannada Beary community. Their lifestyle is unique. They lived a very simple life. Still they lived a honourable life." he added.
Speaking about the cd title 'Talesingara', Baddur said it meant decorating a girl's head with flowers. And it has no connection with the album.
"When a woman is getting married, she wears all the ornaments, to her whole body and if there is nothing on her head, then the woman does not look good." he concluded.
