Mysore, Oct 27: A possible terror attack was foiled late Thursday night in Mysore. Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were arrested by the police after a shootout on the ring road in Vijaynagar just outside the city. T
The militants fired from an AK-47 rifle at police when intercepted and the latter returned the fire before arresting them around midnight on Thursday.
While two bullets fired by the militants hit a police vehicle, none was injured on either side in the shootout. The police have recovered the AK-47 rifle, a pistol and some ammunition from the militants.
A Satellite phone, a pistol, a digital watch was found from them. An Al Badr letter-head was also recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile the search operations are still on. The police say that the terrorists had big targets in mind.
They had surveyed the Vikas Soudha building, an extension of the Vidhan Soudha in Bangalore, and had been in Mysore for the past three months.
