Doha : Bharathi Vishnuvardhan graces KSQ women's talents day

Doha, Oct 23: Karnataka Sangha Qatar honored legendary cine actress Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, on her golden jubille year of her association with Kannada Cinema Industry at 'Vanitha Pratibha Sambrama 2014.'

A special song composed, written and sung by talented memebers of KSQ, consisting of 27 Kannada films in which Bharathi acted were dedicated to her on the occasion.

'Miss KSQ Beauty Pageant' contest thrilled a crowd of more than 400 on Friday October 10 evening at the premises of Al Maha Boys Academy in Qatar.
The event was the concluding part of the 'Vanita Pratibha Sambrama-2014,' a talent search held for the ladies by Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a premier association here led by the dynamic and multi-talented president Deepak Shetty and his committee.



















































 

 

 


The talent search was mainly conducted to bring out the hidden talents of ladies hailing from Karnataka and residing in Qatar. The first part of the event which was held on September 26 received huge response, with more than 120 ladies taking part in many competitions. Competitions like rangoli free hand, hair style, vegetable salad, sweets cooking,best out of waste, mehndi art gave the ladies a good opportunity to exhibit their talents.

The evening started off with a rousing welcome extended to Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and special guest cine actor Aniruddha Jatkar by children of KSQ.

President Deepak Shetty welcomed the gathering which was followed with the lighting of the lamp by president Deepak Shetty, vice-president Nageshwar Rao, joint secretary Sunil Kamalaksha, ladies coordinators Shubha Murali, Shilpa Mannangi, Akshaya Shetty and chief guest of Honor, Special Guest and Guest.

Talented singers of KSQ Tufail Mateen, Arvind Patil, Sawmya and Prajna entertained with their scinitillating singing performance. Special guest Anirudhha Jatkar also joined them by singinging a super Kannada song “Neerabittuneladamele”.

President Deepak Shetty, vice president Nagesh Rao, joint secretary Sunil Kamalaksha, chief guest of honor Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, special guest , Aniruddha Jatkar, guest Col Retired Suresh, ShilpaMannangi ,Shubha Muruli and Sub Editor of the E-Magazine , Savious Crasta released first edition of in-house E-Magazine” Nam Nammalli”.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan was felicitated by KSQ executive committee members and ladies sub committee members Shilpa Mannangi, Shubha Murali, Shilpa Shetty, Hema Lakkappa, Padma Sasnur and Akshaya Shetty with flowers, shawl and a memento. Other Karnataka based organisations in Qatar also honored her on the occasion. Tulukoota president Ravi Shetty, Bunts Qatar President Prakash Chandra Ajila, SKMWA president Abdul Majeed, Qatar Billavas president Divakar Poojary, MCC vice president Prakash Noronha and KMCA joint treasurer Mounir were present during felicitation.

The highlight of the evening was the Miss KSQ Beauty Pageant. There were two rounds of performances, “SampradayekaUdduge”, “Spring Collections” and “Question-answer session with each of the rounds.”. All contestants with their lovely attires, catwalks and smiles won the hearts of the crowd and kept the evening going as they presented themselves on the ramp with confidence and style.

A panel of two renowned judges from various fields judged the beauty pageant Nithya Natarajan, assistant director Ooredoo Strategy and Cine Actor Aniruddha Jatkar. The entire Miss KSQ segment was anchored by talented Prarthana Shetty. Sweerata Shetty declared winner, Preethi Shetty and Divya Cehtan emerged first and second runner-up respectively.

Shubha Muruli, ladies coordinator handled the felicitation. Vote of thanks was done by Shilpa Shetty, ladies committee member.

Many prominent personaltities like past president and chairman of advisory board V S Mannangi, past president Prabhakar, Arvind Patil, Arun Kumar, Ramachandra Shetty & Milan Arun ICBF officials, Asmath Ali and many office-bearers of other Karnataka-based organizations were present.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the talent search competition.

    Kannadigas in Qatar were fortunate to have legendary Kannada actress Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan gracing the fucntion as chief Guest of Honour on her Golden Jubilee year of association with Film Industry.

    This year Vanitha Pratibha Sambrama witnessed record entries with more than 100 ladies taking part in 7 different competitions, making it one of the most sough after ladies events in Doha amongst Kannada community in Qatar.

    Once again congratulations to all the winners and appreciation to all the participants, who took part in many competitions enthusiastically.
