Mangalore, Oct 23: It was an unforgettable experience for the people who attended the first-ever 'Country Gospel Music Concert' by White Doves NGO at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Hall, Bendore here on Wednesday October 22.
Addressing the gathering, founder president of White Doves, Corrine Rasquinha, said that the main idea was to have a sing along concert where the participation of the crowd is of paramount importance. "Leading musicians and singers from Mumbai, Bangalore and Mangalore will be glorifying God with their musical talent." she had promised.
Bendore parish priest Fr Antony Serrao was welcomed by Corrine and Vitus Rasquinha on to the stage.
Speaking to the audience, Fr Serrao said that the concert should not come to an end in just one day. 'It should be continue forever. God will shower countless blessings on everyone. All must worship God, as He is our father,' he noted.
Corrine Rasquinha's new English hymns audio CD was released on this occasion by Vivienne Pocha, a singer from Mumbai, who wished that Corrine would continue to produce more and more hymns in future.
Famous preacher from Divine Retreat Centre, Mario Joseph, was also present on this occasion. Mario spoke about his early life, his struggle, problems he faced when got converted. etc.
The concert began with the first hymn. 'Live for Jesus', sung by Corrine Rasquinha, following which, international fame Vivienne Pocha sung 'I've Been Touched'.
The hymns which were sung during the concert were, Because He Lives, Jesus will be mine Forever, Born Again, Here Today Gone Tomorrow, Just a Closer Walk, Are You Washed/I'll Fly Away, I Believe He's Coming Back, Your Love O lord, End of Beginning, Over and Over Again, Victory in Jesus, Yes I know, Praise His Name, My Jesus I Love Thee, My God is So Big, Try a little kindness, Footsteps, Thank You Lord for your Blessing, Jesus takes my Burdens Away, River of Jordan, I'm So Glad and Isn't He Wonderful.
A professional team of musicians and singers namely Vivienne Pocha- an International singer, Gerard Machado- a renowned jazz guitarist and singer, joined by our local talented singers-Corrine Rasquinha, Angie Moras, Stella Machado and Francis Aranha presented the programme. Talented guitarist and violinist-Nelson Pereira (Mumbai), Jerome Coelho- bass guitarist, Sanjith Rodrigues on Keyboard and Sanjay Rodrigues on drums, Sweethin Hartman on rhythm guitar/saxophone/vocals, Dilip Cabrera-guitarist/vocals and Asish Palanna and Elton on Rhythm guitar/vocals contributed to the success of the concert.
Gavin Rodrigues and Nicky Pinto danced to the hymn "My God is so Big" which enhanced the beauty of the concert.
