Mangalore, Oct 24:  P M Muhammad Ali (55), a resident of II Block, Katipalla died of a heart attack at home on Monday, October 23 early in the morning.

He is said to have attended the morning prayer at the Katipalla mosque and was then preparing to go to attend the Eid prayer. Suddenly he complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital, but breathed his last on the way.

He was the second son among the six children of the late P M Abdul Qader 'Master' and lived with wife in II Block, Katipalla. He was one of the first persons from Katipalla to have taken up employment abroad. He was in Muscat and then in Dubai for about 15 years. After returning to India six years ago, he had been living with his family.

Until death, he was the chief accountant of the Panambur Muslim Jama'at mosque, Katipalla. Known for his simplicity and commitment, he was popular in and around the area.

He is survived by wife, two brothers - one of them, P M Zainuddin Katipalla is a writer-poet based in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - and three sisters.

His funeral ceremony was held in the Katipalla cemetery on Monday evening.

The Katipalla Jama'at, Katipalla, Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KEMYA), Dammam and many of his friends and well-wishers have condoled his death.
