Dubai, Oct 18: United Brahmavarites (UB), an association of Brahmavarites spread across UAE gathered along with their well-wishers, friends and families at London Suites Hotel to celebrate the completion of three successful years of the association's formation in the UAE.
The gathering which gave a great opportunity for all Brahmavarites to exchange greetings and strengthen mutual bonds was held at the London Suites Hotel here on Friday October 17, 2014. Pradeep Barboza, Paladka, a talented personality, versatile in many fields like acting, direction, drama and literature, highly motivated and famous for his Konkani plays, was the chief guest of the function along with senior UB member Thomas Suares from Brahmavar.
The programme began at 12.15 noon with a graceful welcome dance by Ishita Shekar. Compere Anil Prakash gave a small introduction about United Brahmavarites and mentioned the purpose of such get-togethers which not only brings people together but also enriches cordiality and enhances unity.
'United Brahmavarites’ President Jeevan Sequeira, welcomed the chief guest Pradeep Barboza Paladka, senior UB Member Thomas Suares to the dais along with secretary Philomena D’Costa. The programme was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by chief guest along with Thomas Suares, Jeevan Sequeira and Philomena D’Costa.
Philomena D’Costa read a brief report about the forum and presented the future plans and activities.
Thomas Suares, in his address encouraged UB to increase its sphere of influence and activities in order reach to those who most of the times are away from such forums and activities owing to their working conditions and other reasons.
Chief guest Pradeep Barboza thanked UB group for giving respect to an artist like him and wished all the best to the UB group.
UAE's talented singer Nisha Sequeira along with Wilson and musician Joyson entertained the audience with superhit Konkani songs. UAE renowned DJ Anil Cardoza kept the audience on the dance floor with his rhythmic music.
The elegant dance performances by UB kids Ansita, Yashaswi, Alrish & Mekhala and from a Mangalorean group were eye-catching. Ashlin, Shayan, Chandini, Jovian, Rita and Kelrina had the audience asking for more with their scintillating dance performances.
The humour quotient of the day was adequately looked after by humorous skits from Janet Sequeira, James Pius D’Souza, Stany D’Cunha , Lynell Monteiro and Johnson D’Silva, Their rib-tickling comedy sent the audience in peals of laughter.
The main attraction of the programme was the Fancy Dress Competition for kids which was very unique and appreciated by all. It was pleasing to see the little kids take on the stage with their creativity and innocence. The participants made the best use of the opportunity provided by UB to showcase their precious talent. The children not only made their parents proud by their sterling and fantastic performances but also gave boost to the organizers plans of having this Fancy Dress competition to larger audience and competitors in the future. UB initiated Fancy Dress with a vision of providing a common stage for all children and also introducing them to the stage at a young age which would in turn cast away stage fright from the children and instil confidence in them.
UB joint secretary Roshini Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. This was followed felicitation to the sponsors, lucky draw and announcement of the winners in the fancy dress competition.
The compere of the day Anil Prakash exhibited exemplary skills in keeping the audience busy and attentive. His unique brand of compering interspersed with jokes came in praise of the audience and the organizers.

The well-organized programme gave a clear indication that United Brahmavarites and its office-bearers are committed to delivering quality programmes in the coming days. The programme came to an end with the baila dance that had almost everyone storming to the dance floor.
Overall, it was a fun-filled and enjoyable day for all who attended function.
