Mumbai, Oct 20: BSKB Association recently celebrated Senior Citizens Day at Ashraya, Nerul with pomp and gaiety.
All the senior citizens in Ashraya came together and conducted the programme with enthusiasm. Nearly 20 elderly women and men danced to the songs of old hindi films and held a programme titled 'Retro evening'. The audience at jam packed hall sang the songs and praised the programme.
Men and women aged between 62 to 97 wore special clothes and make up according to their personality and danced at the ramp walk forgetting their age and filling the audience with excitement. They congratulated Sindhu Nayar who trained the Asraya residents for the programme.
Chief guest, Retired justice B N Krishna, Gokula president K Subbanna Rao, elected president Dr Suresh S Rao, Lioness district president, Lion district governor, Ashraya resident Lalitha Rao, Dakshina Moorthy and others lighted the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. Ashraya resident Tara Shenoy led the prayer.
K S Rao welcomed. Kusuma Srinivas and Ruchitha Mehra compered the programme. Gokula president felicitated the guests by presenting shawl, fruits and memento. Chandravati Rao, leader of Ashraya read the report. Ratna Acharya presented a trophy installed by him and felicitated Winner Victor D' Souza, the winner. Chitra Melmane compered the programme. Secretary of the Sangha Chandrashekar Bhat proposed Vote of thanks.
