Belthangady, Oct 20: The police have arrested three persons involved in transporting of cattle for slaughtering purpose on Sunday.
Abdul Aziz from Thotaththady, Ismail and Bawa from Navoor are the arrested persons. The raid took place at Guruvayanakere.
The police found 1 bull, 2 calves and 6 cows in the pickup vehicle the arrested used for the transportation of cattle. It is said that the animals in the small vehicle were kept and treated in an inhuman way. The police have seized the vehicle and rescued the cattle.
Meanwhile few Hindu organizations have demanded to curb the prevalent cattle trafficking in the area. They have complained that cattle have been regularly stolen from Indabettu and Killur areas.
Belthangady police Sub Inspector Prakash Devadiga led the operation.
