Mangalore, Oct 19: The agitating VHP leader Jagadish Shenava has ‘come to terms’ with the police department, with agreeing to the Commissioner R Hitendra who assured he would take action against sub inspector after DCP crime submits the investigation report in the case without holding the latter in suspension.
With this, three day deadlock over the issue came to temporary halt, even as the VHP and Bajrang Dal withdrawing the Kavoor Bandh that was called for Monday, October 20. The Dal activists informed they would continue the agitation, had the Commissioner failed to act upon the report as he promised on Sunday October 19.
The commissioner speaking to daijiworld said “suspending the sub inspector without considerations of the investigation report will sound prejudice”. He conveyed as soon the DCP readies the report and submits it to the commissioner the action will be taken against Umesh Kumar on the basis of the inferences in the report.
However, on the other hand Jagadish Shenava argued the Commissioner guaranteed that the DCP crime would file the report today evening and the action against Umesh will be mostly taken by Monday evening. Shenava told he had taken the victim Charan and his wife to Commissioner’s office to impart the seriousness of the problem.
The commissioner conveyed that the protesters seem to have understood that Umesh Kumar could not be suspended until the investigation report arrives on the table. He reiterated he would only act upon the report.
Earlier in the afternoon the MP of DK, Nalin Kumar spared some time with the protesters and alleged Mangalore City Commissioner and officers were working like agents of Congress party. He, however expressed the VHP and Dal would not withdrew the protests until the alleged officer was suspended from his post to conduct fair investigations.
