The BJP govt erred two times one by keeping silent on attacks and second by not taking action against attackers. 3. Why get get stuck there, why not going back beyond that?

Indian Muslims got emotional (naturally) Pakistan got break through !!

Bajrangdal sponsored by BJP did second mistake again by attacking Church in Mangalore..Luckily, Mangalore Christian Community is peace loving people. They didn't join terrorist organization, they didn't do any anti India activities..So, Mangalore and India survived ! Mr.Yeddy could have handled it easily,unfortunately he didn't..Now,Mr.Sidramayya is trying..His intention may be different.Let us see what will be the end result..

(a) Controversial Babri was demolished in 1992. But removing Kashmiri Pundits started in late 80s till 1990. After removing Pandits from Kashmir, Pak radicalised the Kashmiri Muslims and started coming into India through Kashmir. People today forgot about Kasmiris. If then congress government would have ensured pandits displacement did not take place, today there was no hardfeelings with anyone. Unfortunately everyone remembers babr but not Kashmiri Pandits..:-(:-( just becuase they are Hindus??? I am seriously getting doubt. It is not small issue. Over 3 lakh Kashmiri Pandits are removed from their house through violence.

(b) If you say, babri demolition incited hardfeeling in Muslims and church attack with Christians, then how much hardfeeling a HINDU might have got when he was denied a country in 1947 (but fooled Hindustan is yours) how much Hindus should have hardfeelings today???

- The words "force" and "conversion" do not go hand in hand as they are meaningless.
- If a person is converted by sword or any other deceptive means, then that is not a willful conversion and is null in the eyes of God
- The act of choosing to follow God is always done willingly
- Any action can be misrepresented as hurting sentiments. For e.g. if a child was told not to eat masala dosa and he ate it, then in the eyes of the parent that is hurting the parents sentiment.
- RSS, VHP, etc. have deliberately distorted the meaning of conversion and now their followers blindly follow them rather than use their brains.

Mentioning I am a Christian was done only in the context of my comments in reply to Shalini first and then next to you. I am not the type of person to advertise which religion I belong to on DW or elsewhere. Being a good human is what is needed on which I agree with you.
As for seeking justice it is important to ensure the guilty are punished and to serve as a deterrent for any future potential offenders. Moreover, this event being in the past is not beyond the reach of today's justice unlike the inquisition you are referring to because probably none of those people are even alive today. If they were then yes they too need to face the law.
Moreover, how do you say hatred is created by seeking justice ?? and yes if Hindus have been victims of violence/attacks anywhere they must also be given justice if the perpetrators are alive.

Vinaya, even so called Christian nations do not base their law on Christian teachings especially that of 'forgiveness'. It would be extremely hard for governments to maintain law and order and deter crime if authorities and people started forgiving every criminal/offender.
Christian teachings are not easy to put into practice all the time and believe me no government on earth would risk having their laws based on 'forgiveness'.
Having said that most European nations have abolished the death penalty. Sonia Gandhi who many malign here on DW also forgave her husband's killer who was pregnant and saved her from the death penalty.
It is all very well to say we should forgive but there are hardened criminals who commit heinous crimes out there who show no remorse. The country cannot wait to see if they will change or not. Without a system of justice maintaining law and order is impossible and yes please don't equate law of the land I mean of democratic nations as revenge. Justice and revenge are different.
