Mangalore, Oct 19: Belthangady police have registered a case against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi.
After Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Sri Veerendra Heggade complained to the Dakshina Kannada district Superintendent of Police, the Belthangady police have initiated the process of the case.
As per complaint by Sri Heggade, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi has been spreading false news against him through the media for the past one year.
The complaint further states that Thimarodi, on the basis of few incidents which had taken place around Dharmasthala, has been accusing Dharmasthala and him of committing various offences. Thimarodi has also been dragging the government, judiciary and police into the matter.
The complaint says that on July 24, a television channel telecasted an interview with Thimarodi in which Thimarodi accused Sri Heggade of making a telephone call to the Circle Inspector to arrest Thimarodi. Sri Heggade says that Thimarodi accusations about the murder are untrue connecting his relatives to it.
‘Dharmasthala has never maintained the practice of phoning police in any matters. I take this as humiliation to the police department and myself. I request you to investigate the matter and let the public know the truth. Only a fair investigation can uphold the integrity of law and constitution’ part of the complaint to the Superintendent of Police read.
Superintendent of Police after taking the legal opinion instructed the Belthangady police to register the case. Under section 153, 153A and 259 police have registered the case against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi.
